Filament Projects are developing a new immersive theatre piece for children aged 3 – 8 years. Working title PLANT, the show will use horticulture to celebrate difference and encourage children to think about how we might care for both ourselves, and those around us, better.
We are currently embarking on a funded R&D phase for this project and are looking to work with a designer to explore the form of the piece and develop some initial design concepts.
The designer’s role is 2.5 days work, to include planning, delivery of an in-school workshop and production of initial concept sketches and ideas.
We can offer a fee of £500 for this R&D phase, based on a day rate of £200/day. In addition to this fee we will also cover travel expenses for any out-of-area travel.
Following this R&D phase we will be looking to take the project to full fruition in Autumn 2023, subject to securing further funding.
We are looking for an individual with:
Experience of creating immersive or installation work
Experience of creating work with and for children
A Northwest base
Experience of creating touring work
We are committed to building a team that is representative of our society, and are particularly interested in applications from people whose communities/backgrounds are under-represented in the arts/creative sector.
